Like her naturally occuring namesake, Sandunes plays with broad landscapes of sound. Her sonic identity has evolved alongside her journey from pianos to production, and her performances reveal an appetite for integrating the worlds of studio and stage. Audiences at home and on the road have seen her supporting Pretty Lights in Colorado, at the Barbican as part of Different Trains 1947, opening for Bonobo at Manchester International Festival, and playing at major festivals in the country, including the globally renowned Magnetic Fields as well as iconic classical venues like the National Centre for Performing Arts in Mumbai. She has partnered with Red Bull TV for their global Searching For Sound series, cataloging the sounds of Bombay and developing a sample pack released through music software company, Ableton.
Outside of the studio, Sandunes advocates accessibility and exposure around music-making. She regularly gives workshops on music production and performance and is an Ableton Certified Trainer. She has spoken at 2016’s LOOP festival in Berlin, at Mumbai’s G5A and on Point Blank’s online network of production masterclasses.
In 2017, she co-founded DASTA – a beat maker’s collective that focuses on DIY growth and empowerment through the arts in India. Her work has been recognized by international and local tastemakers across various media including Rolling Stone, Red Bull Radio, Resident Advisor, Vh1, Red Bull Music Academy Daily, The Quietus, and The Guardian.
