2017 marked a decade of SulaFest and Mixtape had the opportunity of being a part of its grand celebrations for the 4th consecutive year. Spread across 3 days, with 3 stages and over 120 artists, this edition was the biggest one yet. Set in the beautiful Sula vineyards in Nashik, it was where music, art and design came together artistically to create the most exciting experience for the festival goers.
Keeping in line with the picturesque festival site, we opted for a ‘rustic’ feel, using wooden crates, wine bottles and a variety of recyclable materials from the vineyard itself. “The high point for us were the grape palates we used and how we covered all walls with cardboard boxes that Sula wine is usually packed in” said Naveen Deshpande, Founder of Mixtape. Utmost attention was paid from the biggest to the smallest detail which helped amplify the festival’s vibe – from choosing the perfect colors to represent the theme of the 10th edition, trees adorned with clouds and the Sula sun to the hand painted wooden sign boards at every nook and corner, and the 3 stages specifically designed keeping in mind the music to suit the mood. Installation like the ‘rain drop alley’, the food court that was the perfect spot for delicious treats, the bazaar with a line of quirky souvenirs and most importantly exceptional performances from artists like Sax Machine and the Bosnian band Dubioza Kolektiv made the 10th edition of SulaFest a special one.
Producing the 10th year of what has become a landmark event was, as always, an outstanding experience. Take a trip down the memory lane with us and have a look at Mixtape at SulaFest.
