Indus Creed inducted into the Vh1 Hall of Fame

Indus Creed, the flag bearers of the Indian rock scene have been inducted into the VH1 Hall of Fame in the recently concluded VH1 Sound Nation Awards at Hard Rock Cafe, Mumbai. Having played a significant role in the growth of Indie music industry since 1988, Indus Creed was one of the first rock band’s to form in the country. The trailblazing band set the stage for what we recognize today as a definitive rock movement in India.
Uday Benegal, vocalist of Indus Creed talks about how it feels to be the first Indian band to be inducted into the VH1 hall of Fame. “While we would prefer not to fall prey to any illusions of greatness, we are very grateful that Vh1 deemed us worthy of the honour of being inducted into their Hall of Fame. Usually this means it’s time to hang up your guitars and retire to the porch with a gigantic beer cooler and a stack of music you didn’t have time to listen to. Not for us. We’ve just gotten re-kickstarted and will keep the music coming—loud, hard and fun. Because it’s all we want to do. We wouldn’t mind the beer cooler, though.”
