It’s been four long years since talks on Scribe’s third, full length album began. Hail Mogambo is finally set to release sooner than expected. It is mixed by Keshav Dhar and mastered by Jens Bogren (Fascination Street Studios, Örebro, Sweden). Jens has worked with bands like Opeth, Katatonia, Kreator, Soilwork, James LaBrie, God Forbid, Devin Townsend, Ihsahn, Paradise Lost, Amon Amarth, Dragonforce, The Ocean amongst others.
‘Hail Mogambo’ hit-list
Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy spoke to us about the album:
“The most exciting thing about this album is that this is the first album written with Viru (Virendra Kaith – drummer), there is a complete new feel in the rhythm section with a lot of new gear involved. From the band’s point of view, this album is very special since every member has gone through a crucial period of their life through its making. There were two weddings within the Scribe family, two members have gone through career changes, a film and two TV series released. It’s almost like a turning point in our life.
Every track has a story behind it; ‘Return of Oberoi’ is about Kadman’s (dear friend of the band) return from Musicians’ Institute. Naveen Deshpande (Bossman at Mixtape) our manager was involved right through the pre-production of the album, the track ‘Black Diamond’ is named after the building he lives in.
A special mention goes to Keshav Dhar for mixing the album. His overall involvement has taken this album to the next level.
