The Grammy award winning Saharan rebels, Tinariwen, will perform two shows in India this November as a part of their Fall Tour 2017. Formed in the early 80’s, Tinariwen is one of West Africa’s finest musical exports – a group of nomadic Tuareg musicians who has earned a reputation as one of the best live bands in the world.Their music often described as ‘Blues from the desert’ tells tales of revolution, overcoming persecution and desert survival. The band has collaborated with dozens of reputed musician like Flea and Josh Klinghoffer of Red Hot Chili Peppers, American singer-songwriter and former lead guitarist of The War on Drugs – Kurt Vile, Mark Lanegan of Screaming Trees, and Alain Johannes of Queens of the Stone Age and Them Crooked Vultures to name a few. After more than 15 years as a global touring outfit, and four decades since their inception, the renowned group heads to India next month.
